I was never big on audiobooks because
1) my mind kept wandering off and I've to rewind often and
2) some narrators made me cringe and I don't want to dislike the characters because of how they sound.
BUT, I've got me some free audiobooks, and listening to them while doing my daily walk does make time pass faster. I need to remind myself to turn off noise cancelling, though.

I’m loving this audiobook more than I’d thought I would. And man, the Australian accent is a delight to listen to!

rn mostly the ones for french learners haha but by podcasts i also mean more generally longform videos on youtube, mostly about history or philosophy, etc.

Ah yeah, that's also a good idea to just listen to something on YT. :)

I have no idea.. lol. I've tried some self-development podcasts and just general topics, like from University of the Netherlands, or about psychology, etc, but some are just too long and I'm better (and faster) reading than listening to something. Now I just want to listen to something during my walk so that it doesn't feel so long anymore. :p

then id just recommend some french podcasts (if youre still learning french), little talk in slow french is pretty good. and the eps are around 25-30 mins long.
Yes time passes faster for sure! For me to focus on an audiobook, I need to lie down and stare at the ceiling or sit in a rocking chair staring out at nothing. 😭
It's a detached experience, like ur there and not there at the same time.

In my case I will stare at the ceiling and suddenly find an interesting crack or spot, and start to think about something else and totally forget to listen. 😂

Thanks, Nel! Yeah, I'm still learning, although more like just doing 1-2 exercise on DuoLingo atm. But I'll check out your recc.

Yeah, I bypass it by creating a DuoLingo school (you can do that for free), and add myself and several family members to the school. Then you have unlimited hearts for exercises and don't get annoying ads. But, they recently changed some things, so, for example I still need to use diamonds now for the reading section now, and occassionally got ads for DuoLingo Chess.

Yea, it's totally not ideal. 😂 But DuoLingo still works for me because it's low effort while I can still slowly progress in my learning.
