When the writing and storytelling is so shit
That it makes my blood boil
I start mentally stammering
Bc I’m too upset and annoyed to find the right words
Just to rant about how trash this is

It may be stupid
But when she’s inner monologging about how they used to order take out all the time
She’s ashamed she can’t cook for shit
But us enjoying regular cooking for her

I found that scene so annoying

This shit writing style where the fmc at the very least
Is always fucking inner monologging to the reader

This bitch is written as so fucking spoiled

The other be backstory and scenes where it’s her and her best friend what’s his face
And the shit ex
The shit party and shitty mates intro

Maybe bc I’m a bit older now too
Bc rereading this shit makes me realize how juvenile the voice is

But also more importantly

I fucking HATE this fmc isla

She can go crawl back into that cage and yeet herself off a cliff into the abyss for all I care

That scene where she’s being in her own words “cute” when she puts on the beast queen crown
Was the only other part if any that I remotely liked about this bitch

I skipped to the part where she’s out of the sled cage
Bc the stuff before that I already knew from vague memory was shit

I did not however, recall how short the writing is
I did know it wasn’t amazing at least
Clearly

But im hating everything about this rn
I know book two was unremarkable
And book three is nowhere to be fucking seen

This is like, the third or fourth time I’m rereading this series, bc there’s STILL NO NEW BOOKS.

I did come back to these notes bc I wondered what I rated this book last time..(3 stars, apparently)
And just now I was worried I gave it 4.
Gods this writing is shittier with every reread.
Barely three stars bc of the REALLY shit writing.
The “romance” is the only thing holding those 3 stars up.
