Definitely not a Hawkman story I’ve read before!
I suppose it shouldn’t have been a surprise, a race who sided with the Dominators, have ‘conquered’ (enslaved) other worlds.
I just can’t believe this version of Shayera exists!
She’s cruel and entitled.
Meanwhile, Katar sees what his home world has become and is disturbed.

The young woman named Shayera!
Katar finally confronts Byth but Shayera stops him from killing the ‘hero’. And of course, he gets away.
Katar is reinstated with Shayera as his partner…

I like how things were shown to us, not explicitly told. It helps us take greater care in really seeing the art.
A lot of moments I wasn't expecting.
Not to *spoil* an almost 40 year old comic but...
Shayera dies, Katar unintentionally kills his own father and lives for 10 years, banished on an island!
