Currently parsing through the security jargon right now. I’d definitely recommend annotating as you read, as it gets quite dense rather quickly. The topics on security/networking blend seamlessly, providing a thorough foundation for IT skills in a way that feels cohesive so far.

Spent a week reaffirming everything covered in chapter one: networking basics (osi model, basic network terms like VLAN, and LAN, and basic protocols), the CIA triad and basic encryption processes like the AES and the RSA symmetric and asymmetric encryption techniques. I kicked off chapter two this evening and will be fully annotating this chapter as well, again, very dense but seems to be a wealth of info thus far.

Wrapping up chapter one which mainly covers the basics of information security, beginning with confidentiality, then covering data integrity, and finally closing out with availability. Again, each of the former is covered on a superficial level. What's interesting though is the constant incorporation of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals done in tandem with the core topics. Overall a simple but dense primer.
