Addictive yet ridiculous, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is perfection when it comes to being a palette cleanser but lacks trajectory in its plot, character development, and consistency. Despite its faults, Twilight has embedded itself in modern literary history and is perhaps the mother of so many other books which started as fanfiction.
