This story is heavy on guilt by both protagonists but especially the heroine. She's pissing me off because she's not trusting a man who has unloaded his heart. He's got courage and she's a coward.

I'm disappointed this read through. While being steadfast about her reputation most of the time, she slips into seduction mode quite easily. Even when I give her the benefit of knowing how powerful hormones are, she's a bit simple-minded. She's also hanging on to a secret and I say, if she trusts Devlin with her reputation, she needs to ante up and trust him with the whole story. She's basically lying to him.

Since Devlin was a dominate secondary character in "The Captive" I've decided to read his story while he's fresh in my mind.
