I’m so happy with my progress today. I’ve absolutely enjoyed the part about the Nazi spies and the crazy stories that went along with it, and how funnily he debunked them! So entertaining the way he laid it out. What was jarring was the fact that we went back in time from the chronological order we’d been going in, and it’s confused me and jolted me. I guess it was to create suspense but Idl it.

I thought there was going to be a more conclusive ending, and a wrap up of the war, but I guess it didn’t fit with NC so it wasn’t included. It was strange to me how it ended with one ship and the burials but I guess that was just the order it happened. It was lacking the conclusion I expected and wanted and I wished it had ended differently.

It’s moved off of sinkings so it’s not as depressing. It’s good to get to the other parts of the war instead of having one sink after another.

I love all of the details about life back then and the experiences of the people. He really sets the stage and gives you everything you need to know. The writing is good, but there are quite a bit of typos that are distracting. The stories themselves are really depressing and downers. I’m clinging to facts about the Bankers more than the stories.
