Okay I definitely found the depressing part

I believe I have reached "the depressing part" my friend has been so eager for me to experience

Dave came home and saw me reading With a Vengeance and reminded me that I specifically said I wasn't going to read anything else with my eyes until I finished this so I read 50 pages out of spite (and also out of my love for Coltaine because holy shit).
Happy to announce that I do think this one has finally clicked for me (earlier than it happened in book 1!) but I still haven't made it to "the depressing part".

My friend who lends me these books keeps trying to bring me the third one and finally last night I told him I was only 175 pages in and he said "Oh you're not even at the depressing part yet!"
