The heroine is,of course feisty and independent. The men are charming takes.
But really, men of their standing would not be so inappropriate to a woman of good standing. They wouldn’t care a jot for women of low standing but they would not be entering India’s bed room.
Also, India as an unmarried woman would not have been breakfasting in her room.
