Slow burn or no burn.

This is long. I'm not sure where it is going. I was expecting an apocalyptic event. It might end up with a prediction of mild dystopia? I don't know. Not reading the synopsis isn't always a good idea. So far I'm learning and forgetting a lot about Shackleton and the likes.
