Finding this book very interesting, given some present circumstances in my life right now. But also the cynic in me laughs about the fact this author thought she needed to travel all the way to Africa to watch emotional behavior of elephants. Growing up, if we sent a cow to butcher or sold a calf at auction, the herd would beller throughout all hours of day &night, grieving their loss, for weeks!
