I find Dean Koontz more miss than hit. I don't much care for Stephen King's work, and find him rather detestable as a human being, but he at least has STYLE.

I agree. And though King is very guilty of overwriting, many of his stories make a lasting impression and he has good taste in writers. Annoying person
