Started reading again but fell asleep!

There are still grammar mistakes... though less cringeworthy than before.
I can actually see why the book has good reviews.
The question is whether or not the first third tainted my impression too much...

Woohoo!
There were grammar issues which vanished after redownloading!

On the bright side, I think I'll be able to finish this book instead of dropping it.
I'm hoping, based on the generally positive reviews, that this is just a version from before the edits...
I would be much happier if the author hired an experienced, professional, editor.

Ahh... we suddenly jump back to the cold immune guy and learn how things tie together.

This is why I'm having so much trouble getting into this... we just had a scene from the perspective of a lion who ended up fighting and losing to a vampire...

And then its back to (presumed) FL, though honestly she could just be another disposable character.

And then its back to the lion, and we learn that vampires explode in sunlight.

And then we have more cryptic dreams...

Just when I had thought the book would focus on the MC it focused on the presumed FL.
I guess I should flag this book as having multiple perspectives...
Unless it becomes more cohesive, there's a good chance I'll be giving it only 2 stars.

Ok... it sounds like they are talking actual seasons... so 80 is just 20.

Huh. Apparently it's a vampire book. I guess that matches with what we've seen so far.
And I'm confused, the girl he just ate, wasn't she 80? The whole chapter sounded like it was talking about a kid... though I guess an immortal vampire would think 80 was young....
Also spotted several points which were either grammar mistakes or (less likely) specific to the Queen's English

Chapter 7 does a decent job of introducing the MC and making us sympathetic to him.
Unfortunately it's like watching a show on fast forward, so the impact isn't as strong as it could be.
It does have some interesting tie ins to the overall plot, but its still not grabbing my attention.
