When I picked up this book, I was looking for something that would feel similar to "They Called Us Enemy." I was hoping for a real Holocaust narrative that rang with hope. "But Megan, the Holocaust was-" yeah, I know: searching for hope in such times must have been like looking for a needle in a haystack. But the survivors found it somewhere. I want to know how.
