Ben is really daring to follow Thomas Hedgepath. A trait of his is determined, because he wants to put an end to his animals being killed, pg. 215.

I have been thinking about the character Hudson Odinga. He has really been wanting to help Ben, even in getting rid of Thomas Hedgepath.

9/29 I have been thinking about the song excerpt earlier in the story. I think the line, "Don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys," (pg. 73) might refer to Richie being a cowboy.

9/27 Sandy is brave because she agreed to help Ben shuttle the lions into the trailers (pg 146)

9/26 Why did Richie set the fire? What does he have against the Jepsons?

9/25 I can't believe Richie shot Ben's favorite lion, Rocky! I wonder if this foreshadows something worse.

9/22 I really like how the author hides certain facts for the reader to figure out, like the fact that Richie showed Officer Metcalf three out of four rifles. This makes me assume he is hiding the one in which he shot the Sisters with.

9/22 I wonder why the author inserted parts of a song in the book. Could it symbolize something? If so, what? Does it have to do with Ben growing up to be a "cowboy?"

9.21 I don't see why Richie Lewis would shoot the animals? Maybe he did not. I will have to continue reading to find out!

9.20 I suspect that Richie Luis is the sniper. I think that because he has been mean to Ben's family, like the time Alfredo was filling up at the gs station.
