I'm enjoying this but the story keeps referring to the MC bringing her lawyer in while she's questioned. Lawyers present during *questioning* wasn't common in the 1920s. Not totally unheard of, but as Miranda didn't become law until the mid-1960s, it's unlikely. It's even less likely that a marginally educated and frivolous flapper would have known to bring it up. Feels like poor research by the author.
