I'm not sure what the author is trying to do with this story. I dislike Delilah. I think she is mean and vengeful. I think Sam is pathetic but maybe redeemable - if that is even what needs to happen. But it won't be because of Delilah because I don't think she is capable of the kind of selflessness it would take to help someone else.
