This story needs an anchor point. Something to revolve around. It feels like things are just happening without being part of one larger narrative.
Also, what is this whole business of interrupting something really intense and interesting with something extra lame?? Oh some people that mean trouble showed up, let's talk about what our characters in the city were shopping for ... ?? This needs an epic ending.

It's interesting right now but when the POV switches to anybody else or the redundant explanations are back it is quite boring.
I think Song of Achilles broke me. I can never read another book and not compare it to Song of Achilles lol

Considering taking a break and reading blood meridian. Our group FINALLY got going on this big adventure so we immediately had to switch perspective to some small town deputy and his wife. Please ... let me have some action, some death, betrayal, COME ON. Also the author is overexplaining everything. Jeez.

Also why do we have 30+ characters when we aren't using them??? Other characters don't even grief for them when they die! How is this book so well rated ??? xD
