I really cannot stand when an author has a character see something and instead describing it they say some stupid shit like “It was something I’ll never forget.” Or “It was a horror that changed my life.” To then just start a new chapter and ignore it until later in the story. It is so easily apparent it’s a ploy to build tension that involves no talent.
