Ansley cherry is the main character he is a rich man who lives in comfort but then finds a uncomfortable situation were he goes on an expedition to Antarctica and does really complain and loves the salty spray but he hasn't gone in to supper cold weather and the only way he was exempted was through connections with his uncle who is a scientist.

Like how descriptive the author is for example gallons of oil are flowing over board and he sees that as a cluster of jelly fish are surrounding the boat. And I'm not really have any trouble with this book.
