Enjoying this one a good bit more already than the first. James, one of the few characters I liked in Book One, is in this novel a good deal. Mamie is lovely. And Holly Shaw has proven to be kind and reminiscent of Rhoda. Then there’s Daniel, and he’s a darling Scotsman, ugly or no.
