Ah whoa, it's been a decade or more since I read any Holly Black, but she was so so formative for my complicated monster teen feelings. I was worried I wouldn't be into it at the start, the language is kind of clunky, but as Jude is sliding down this dark path of VIOLENCE IS MY FAVORITE, I remember why I devoured the Modern Faerie Tales series repeatedly.
