Last chapter reminded me brutely of Martin Niemöller's famous piece "First They Came."
Unsettling undertones, that are becoming all the more current. First published in 1933 and inspired by Isherwood's own experiences this is unnerving and thrilling so far.
Can't wait to start on Goodbye To Berlin, that was the inspiration of my fave Cabaret.
