I was just sold on the book when I searched the author and came across his AI-panic article in Time. The article didn't convince me the situation is as bad and frightful as he describes it, instead gave me an intense mad scientist energy T_T
I'm gonna have a hard time reconciling this image of the author with the content of his book.

Situation CAN be pretty bad, check ai-2027.com for two predicted scenarios by some of the world's best forecasters.

Great, one more existential threat to worry about. Wcs, I hope AI remains aligned enough to give us painless death.
These folks should pitch their script to Hollywood. "2027", like they made "2012", only this time it's on a more real threat. Best way to get people talking and acting en masse. Articles and books not gonna cut it.
Interesting. Not too sure about movie production timelines but it might be possible that it'll take longer than the apocalypse to get here
True, it will be close. If they show urgency, we might have the movie before that crucial branch in their forecast. Can influence that decision at least.
