The focus of much of the last couple chapters has been on reducing child-centric activities and incorporating children into the “adult world.” I have no idea if the author will touch on this later, but what about the sanctity of childhood? You have your whole life to be an adult but only a few precious years to be a kid…

Really conflicted on what to rate this one!! So many good tidbits and I actually think I’ll want to revisit it at some point, but also a lot of things I was side-eyeing. It should probably be called, “Hunt, Gather, Mother” as much of it was about the mother-child relationship and ignored fathers altogether. I also think it neglected to touch on the parent/son relationship since it focused on her daughter.

Sometimes you can convey more meaning with less words. Anyone who’s seen the Ms. Penick eyebrow knows how true this is🤪

“When you yell at a child, they stop listening.”

Such a simple way to put something that intuitively makes so much sense.
