Is there like a legal reason that folks can’t call something a series lol cus they been killing me talking about “STAND ALONE NOVEL 1”… like if it’s other books coming in a sequence set in the same location with reoccurring character lmao it’s a series or am I tripping?

Like I’m tryna find out the real meaning cus I’m like it’s no way that all these is stand alones but they keep referring back to some shit that you won’t know unless you read the other books like I thought stand alone meant everything is wrapped up and concluded, and it’s not additional things to come
