every time i think that it tells me nothing of value, I'm surprised with how it takes such simple premises and transforms them into answers to profound and important questions.
e.g. "if R&D depts. exist, does that mean humanity has relinquished control over destiny, over time, to Capital?" Stiegler, in the form of many other similar questions answers "yes, control of the future/time HAS been relinquished to technics"

at this point im using this site as ny reading notes lmao.

as to why im reading this in 1st place (it' kinda outside my Situationist International wheelhouse)

This book was recc'd by my professor, to serve as the basis of my capstone -- the thesis of which answers the question of what Fascism as a political technology, actually desires. my answer is cntrl over procreation rather than any strictly economic aims.

this book take such simple and seemingly mundane premises from modern life and makes profound realizations from them.

Stiegler, thru Bertrand Gilles, realizes that we have given Technology (which here is called technics) control over the future, over time.

The R&D dept. controls the conditions of scientific research to anticipate scientific invention qua economic changes. Capital/ism, thru technics, controls time.
