“This inhuman place makes human monsters,” is a line that’s stuck with me. It’s certainly true. The human monster looms over the family with a creeping paranoia. But it was there before they ever crossed paths with the overlook. Lying in wait. What about the Overlook shines a light on this monster? Why does this place take off Jack’s poor disguise? I don’t yet know but I will continue into the dark

It’s absorbing and already rich with tension and tragedy
