While we might have substantive debates and land in a different place than a brother or sister who thinks differently about, say, the age of the earth or how exactly the end times will unfold or the sign gifts, we should not consider them to be unfaithful or less of a Christian because they have come to a different place on an issue that Christians throughout the ages have historically disagreed about.

We forgive only in proportion to how much we understand God's forgiveness of us. When we realize how deep and grave and reckless is our sin against God, we grasp the depth of his grace and are able to extend that grace to others.

If we take Scripture seriously, we should fight for unity in our congregations, refusing to engage in behavior, online or offline, that might hurt a brother or sister in Christ.
