WHAT.

The way just a few pages ago mrs ramsay was imagining minta and paul living in the house, describing all the details around it with such warmth, and now Woolf has stripped everything back, the mold, stillness and the clothes still in the cupboards. The contrast was so sudden (kind of like the war’s emotional effect).

reading mrs and mr ramsays different views of each other is so interesting

i liked the part where lily was describing mrs. ramsay

the way she’s belittling herself, i can’t, it’s so sad

i hope i start understanding what’s happening soon
