But why care about murder if everyone is unkillable personality wise? The whole thing is empty and gross. Is this the kind of world these technocrat freaks want?

[Name Redacted] I think that might have been why this one bounced right off me.

Similarly, there was an indie CRPG that bounced right off me because its plot was based around reincarnation -- but the essential cosmology meant that things just happened in endless cycles, there was no end to it, and the implication which the writers had evidently not considered (but which struck me immediately, having multiple degrees in Religious Studies) was that their vision of endless reincarnation meant there was no purpose to fighting the enemy in the game. Stopping the Big Bad was pointless in their world because nothing he did mattered either. It didn't matter. Nothing did.

Lizz Right! Nothing matters in that kind of world. No motivation = no story.

I guess in this book, people CAN be killed killed, but most are put into new bodies. The idea of wearing other bodies is very wrong to me on a deep level. The constant segregation, this time of mind and body, feels evil.
