The romance is odd. Heroine left her current home to return to her hometown to deal with a crisis. The hero returned at the same time. Why? To help someone he hasn’t seen for twenty years and was then a 10-year old. He even said she was a cute 10-year old (he was 16) The way he inserts himself into her life and into a relationship with a traumatized woman just looks like a parade of red flags.
