Alright I had 0 expectations. This crazy hermit was quite insightful and has a functionalist lens on industrial society and its effect on the lack of autonomy for primary needs. He argues we create surrogate goals and I'm not sure if he's going to criticize these but to me it just helps foster growth in other areas like science and art..
Anyways, only 18 pages in but very cool to think he wrote all this in a cabin..
