Helen deserved better

I mean I can’t hate this book, cause I get it, these thoughts, these actions of the characters they are reality after all, this book is not trying to potray that fictional relationship, the one where the guy is believed to act in a certain way always, all this is actual reality and actual teenage relationships, but it’s very weird reading all this, it’s so real, I feel like why am I even reading this?

I believe Connell feels less ashamed to talk about Marianne and him now when they are in college, not because he is shameful of how he treated her in school, but because he knows now that Marianne is kind of popular, and no one would bother enough to make jokes about both of them. Connell might feel like he’s let go of his previous self but he is still the same, low self-esteem kinda guy.

I don’t know, it’s pretty average till now. The communication is so bad, a lot has to happen for me to like this.
