Also, Clint is written in a real way, in a way I haven’t read in a very long time. The closet I can put it is Nora Roberts, her characters are real and relatable. To me so is Clint and Susan! I hope as the series goes on (33 books!) the writer never looses that ability. I worry that toward the end the author will want to get more books out quickly and we lose the realistic nature of these characters! Hopefully not

While this is a closed door romance, and others complain about how sickly sweet Clint is with Susan, in the first prolong of the first book he was that way with his first wife, then Chloe. I think he just loves big, my husband is the same way so this isn’t unrealistic to me. We’ve been married 14 years!! I do love how this author writes the police procedural aspects, it is the most realistic I’ve read!
