i just finished the second to last section and oh my did she dole out the cliffhangers for every character’s last chapter in it!
DONE! i guessed *part* of the ending with the more current mystery, but not all of the twists to the original one. the way moore tied it all together was pretty masterful. to avoid spoilers for those who haven’t read it, i can tell you that i love love LOVED the final judyta chapter in a few phrases: the swim, the question, the swim back, and the inferred silence to follow it. she shared so many diverging themes on silence and secrecy.
The ending is so divisive, but I thought it was BRILLIANT - for the very reasons you pointed out. It’s so fucking good
