I really enjoyed the neuro-spicy/neurodivergent representation portrayed in Sebastian’s visual and auditory overstimulation, logical hyper fixations, and the tools he used to cope. I liked that his need for understanding and accommodations were addressed. I also felt like his magic was used to highlight chronic pain and how “invisible illnesses” can be lost on or ignored by others. It was positive rep for MG.

This conclusion to the series was satisfying (even though it doesn’t read as if they knew it was a goodbye book) aside from my desire to at least know what upside down powers the new student has! I love a good game/competition in my books, so I really enjoyed this one! I loved Nory and Elliot’s friendship throughout the series and liked how her story centered around her fear of losing him to his new school.
