As an African American woman who wasn't raised in a historically African American church denomination, I find this book to be very interesting and informative. I'm learning a lot about the history of my ancestors and their contributions to American Christianity. What a rich and deep history we have as foundational black Americans!

This book is very informative and fascinating, but gosh, the amount of division within our churches, even within denominations, is truly sad and heartbreaking.
