At this point in the book Commander Creed is worrying about how to defeat his enemy, The Kargs and figuring out the best/ most reckless solution to defeating them. There are many enemies that are gunning to kill the human race entirely for fear of them taking over the galaxy and a hidden prophecy that calls them little killers. Humans in this story are feared for their fighting skills and ability to kill people.
