almost 100 pages in, I'm not particularly invested

the stakes are almost nonexistent. it's not personal, in any way. I don't feel the MC being the tiniest bit invested, and I don't know why I should care about how the story progresses.

what's the goal? is something at stake here? not yet. some men were killed. the reader actually saw the scene, which to me feels like a massive mistake - there's no mystery
