The Second reason I am DFNing this book is the FMC, Marlow, claims her great grandmother immigrated from Norway to avoid witch burnings. Marlow is 26 in the 2020’s. The earliest her great grandmother could have been born is the 1880’s (if no one had kids until their 40’s). She likely had her first kid around 1900.

NORWAY WAS NOT BURNING WITCHES AT THE STAKE IN THE 1900’s!

I’ve tried. I just can’t. I love the author’s TikTok but 😬. Two things did me in:

1. The author kept referring to Nordic people as “Nordes,” which sounded odd, but she does have a Master’s in folklore. Maybe she knows something I don’t (I’ll admit that occasionally happens😉). But it bugged me. So I looked it up. The Nordes are a race of people in the video game The Elders Scrolls.

I think this may be a DNF, or possibly a hate-finish.
