it is reading like a fanfiction. by that i mean the characters and world aren’t described at all beyond a few characteristics. in fanfiction, you assume your reader knows what the characters look like, how they act, and the world they live in (if written in the canon world). you can’t do that with a random sci-fi novel - i couldn’t tell you anything about what the main character, Dakota, looks like :/
