I was re-reading Book 8 earlier and noticed how not only is the Ares-Aphro-Heph affair a metaphor for Ody's fear of Pen's infidelity, but Apro is punished by Hephaestus for her infidelity with a trap in their bed and then at the end of the poem it's Ody and Pen's bed that is what proves his identity. So, despite both Aphro and Ody committing infidelity, her bed is used as a punishment and Ody's is kind of a reward
