Ok so Dirk’s fate should not have shocked me but still.

His son Royall, wth, who has sex with a stranger, a woman closer to your mom’s age (knowing that the woman knew his father in some capacity) in a cemetery?

Dirk is courageous but also just a man who knows deep down that what he is doing is ruining his family. He could have taken a different approach. The injustice and discrimination should be countered but not at the expense of his family and law practice (which is the source of major income). He is quick to feelings just how he was with Ariah.

Very confused by Ariah’s state of mind. Some things she has thought about have been very weird and questionable.

So many questions
Was Gilbert Gay? Violent? Too prudish? His chapter was confusing
