So far I hate Kate. She’s unforgivably ignorant. She’s obviously familiar with Sherlock Holmes - she has quoted him at least 3 times. Even if she has history-amnesia, she should at least be vaguely aware that the current rights and freedoms western women have are a new thing. How an educated woman can be SO ignorant is beyond my belief and making it difficult for me to want to keep reading.
