Growing up in southern England, big cat sightings in the 90's and 00's were something a lot of kids laughed and joked about. I remember being 12-13 and outside around 11pm playing on a trampoline in the pitch back with a friend and we heard rustling in the treeline. We screamed it was the panthers and ran inside before collapsing laughing. Never thought I'd read a book that has the Surrey panther as part of the plot
