I still don’t understand how this man went from a pretty extreme democrat upbringing to wear he is today, the only possibility in my mind is he went corrupt and just wanted money, which he pretty much said several time in the book that he didn’t even know why he wanted to be a lawyer other than they had money. Sad honestly, highly recommend the movie.

Really liked the first half of the book but as soon as he joins the marines the book gets all “america is the best” and gets too political for me. Now i am aware who wrote the book, but i watched the movie before reading the book and i’m happy the movie left all the political agenda crap in the book.

Still giving background info about where he grew up and what the society was like, definitely interesting to hear different view points of american society and “the American dream”

Curious to see how he gets to the point of being a republican vice president because in the first few chapters it seems his family is democratic or even dislikes politics all together…
