Ok, after some investigations, I've discovered that this series is a sequel to another one. So, does that mean this isn't a book one that I can just pick up? As a reader, this re-numbering of books such that some appear firsts that obviously aren't pisses me off. I'm probably going to DNF it because there is obviously a lot that is missing. Grrr.
