AHHH BEST BIT OF THE BOOK (i'm such a typical YA reader it's actually funny)

i forgot how WEIRD amari and tzain's relationship is, like all the effort was spent making zélie and inan believable (and to be fair, it pays off), but like amari and tzain, still, after like three years, STILL feel a little sudden and just weird in general

i'm gonna have to stea- i mean, borrow, ahem, extensive parts of this magic system, why is it all so GOOD

i suddenly became aware of their voices and the words and now all the visual vibrance has gone... at least the dreamscape's still fun

rare that i have a real world problem so pressing that none of the words really hit me at all, i'm gonna have to reread entire chapters probably

ignoring just how deeply unlikeable the king and queen of orïsha are, i actually forgot how much i love this book omg, the nostalgia is insane

first time rereading this since like 2023... it's all coming back to me and it is glorious
