just started reading this and its already shifting the way i think about class and poverty, and the intersectionality with race and immigration. for instance the "volume to anger" ratio clearly diagrams the way people who grew up in poverty (working-class asian aunties) raise their voices even when not angry, which is alarming to middle class asian americans.
